Gold Coast (Hollywood) Coin Club has bought the correspondence Course from ANA for our Members. The regular charge from ANA is about $500. Through our Club you can take this course for $100 (with our club reimbursing you $50 at proof of completion from ANA). You must be an ANA & a Gold Coast Coin Club member to take this course. We will cover Each of the Six sections at our Thursday night meetings, two each month, and repeat this sequence every 6 months. You may start the program at any time with all of the material covered in a 6-month period. You have 2 years to complete the course.

Program Registration fee & Final Examination fee: $100.00 -Students Cost (GCCC sends this $100 to ANA at registration so you can enroll at CLUB RATE. The entire Numismatic Diploma Package (5 books, 2 videos)
Gold Coast Coin Club has purchased the package above. The Club will only have a single set of booklets at this time. The booklets will be shared by rotating them among the registered students each month. Additional booklets can be purchased directly from the ANA or borrowed from our members.
Students Successfully Completing the Program Will Be Able to: (I must add here- with a lot of practice, - Bill S.)
- Demonstrate a fundamental knowledge of numismatic history
- Identify/describe series of U.S. coins
- Know the basics of grading U.S. coins
- Understand how to detect a counterfeit, altered or cleaned coin
- Explain the modern minting process
- Know which references/sources are reliable and where to find them
An extensive 200-question final exam, covering all program topics, will be administered after completion of all requirements. A proctor at our coin club will administer the exam. Students who view the optional videotapes, and review the correspondence course tests should perform well on the final examination.
